Barcelona are preparing themselves for a huge summer transfer window as they get set to take the next step in Xavi’s rebuild.

Andreas Christensen and Franck Kessie are already believed to be on their way to Camp Nou on Bosman deals. A new striker remains a top priority for Xavi, while new full-backs are also likely to be brought in.

At the same time, Barcelona are also keeping an eye on reinforcements in the middle of the park even though they have a well-stocked midfield unit, reports SPORT.

Frenkie de Jong has emerged as a priority target for Manchester United and while the Catalans are not actively looking to sell the 24-year-old, they would be open to considering offers as they intend to sanction a major departure by June 30 to balance the books.

In case they sell any of their midfielders in the summer, Barça are already lining up replacements, and one of the targets on the agenda is Valencia midfielder, Carlos Soler.

The 25-year-old has grown into one of the most reliable performers in midfield in La Liga and has been a top star for Los Che for quite some time now. However, his contract expires in the summer of 2023 and clubs, including Barcelona, are keeping a close eye on the situation.

Talks over a new deal with Valencia could take place after the Copa del Rey final. But if the Spaniard does not renew, the La Liga club could be forced to sell him in the summer, with Barça emerging as a destination.

The report states that Soler has multiple offers on the table already, but if he decides to leave the Mestalla, the midfielder would prefer a move to Barcelona.

Any move from the Catalans’ part would likely depend on the exits. If not, the Blaugrana might wait out until next year to try and sign him on a Bosman deal.
