Chelsea’s team for tonight’s game against Arsenal is out, and among a few changes there is one notable absence – Antonio Rudiger.
The defender isn’t even on the bench, with Malang Sarr and Andreas Christensen playing alongside Azpi (or is it Reece James central with Azpi wide?).
It may be that Rudiger is just being rested as Silva was for the game against Crystal Palace at the weekend, but it could also be that the German international is one of the players with “knocks” that Thomas Tuchel had spoken about in the press conference ahead of this game.
In any case it doesn’t sound too serious, but we’re still keen to know whether it’s an injury that could affect us going forward. If we win tonight the Premier League is no longer our focus – but we will need Rudiger fit to have any chance of winning the FA Cup final against Liverpool.
We’re sure we will find out more from Tuchel after the game – if not before then.
