Chelsea forward Kai Havertz was full of praise for fellow Blues star Jorginho whom he described as “one of the best players” he has played with.

Havertz has scored six goals for the Blues since March, and two of them were created by Jorginho.

Jorginho is not exactly known for his assists. In fact, he has only had five assists from 120 Premier League appearances since joining Chelsea from Napoli in 2018.

The Italy international’s ability to dictate the tempo and progression of the ball, however, has proved to be crucial for Chelsea, especially last season.

In short, Jorginho is very reliable on the ball and has a very clear idea of what he wants to do in midfield, and Havertz certainly likes that.

“We all know he won almost every trophy that you can win, and for me, he’s one of the best players I’ve played with,” the Germany international told Chelsea’s official website about his link-up with Jorginho.

“As a striker or midfielder, it’s very important that you have somebody behind you where you know what he’s trying to do.

“I love watching him play and playing alongside him.”

Chelsea hope to bounce back against West Ham

After the disappointing defeat to Arsenal in midweek, Chelsea will face another London derby against West Ham United.

Havertz expects a difficult afternoon against David Moyes’ side and their solid defence but also insisted that Chelsea will have a point to prove.

“We want to prove to the fans that we are stronger than we showed on Wednesday,” he explained.

“Almost every game now is for us like a final. We have to win games and get points in the Premier League, then we will reach our goals as well.

“West Ham are very tough to play against. They are a very physical team, and you don’t find a lot of space or solutions against them. When you have one then you have to show up and try to use it.”
