By purchasing a 2023 G-Wagon, award-winning Nigerian artist Ahmed Ololade, also known as Asake, has made a significant investment in his career.
Asake’s growing prominence in the music industry is reflected in the pricey SUV, which can cost up to $179,000.
The purchase comes just a few weeks after Asake won two awards at the 16th annual Headies, Nigeria’s biggest music awards show.
He beat out Burna Boy, Omah Lay, and Davido, some of the biggest names in Nigerian music, to win Album of the Year and Next Rated Artist.
The success of Asake goes beyond the charts. He has also been successful in business, selling out the 20,000-seat O2 Arena in London in April 2023.
He was one of the few Nigerian acts to sell out the venue thanks to this accomplishment.
Asake’s purchase of the G-Wagon demonstrates his increasing riches and stature in Nigeria’s entertainment sector. It also reflects the increasing wealth of African artists.
As African musicians achieve greater fame, they may afford to purchase the finer things in life, such as expensive cars.
The G-Wagon is a favorite vehicle among Nigerian celebrities, and Asake is the latest to add one to his collection.
