Andreas Christensen’s departure from Chelsea is pretty secure at this point, and the latest news from Spain only confirms that.
Spanish paper Mundo Deportivo are reporting that the Chelsea defender is looking for a house in Barcelona.
They say that his deal to join the Catalan club is agreed, and that the Blues’ academy product will sign on until 2027 when his contract expires at Stamford Bridge this summer.
It’s a pity to lose him – he’s a quality player as we’ve seen in the last year, and not getting a penny for him only makes things more painful.
But if we were still holding out any hope he might be staying put and signing a new deal, this latest news surely snuffs that out.
His absence from the last few games is also explained in the piece as a purely technical decision to leave him out, with his mystery illness dismissed as a smokescreen.
